Abstract
Sprague Dawley rats(24 weeks of age) were divided and were given normal diet for 6 weeks, followed by normal diet and 2% cholesterol diet for 14 weeks. During these periods, 10 weeks exercises are performed after 4 weeks. And then we liver tissue ǥ decapitating those rats. Aerobic exercise slightly showed a tendency to increase antioxidtive enzymes and malondialdehyde. the high intensity exercise(CRA) slightly increased glutathione-peroxidase, superoxide dismutase and nonprotein-SH, but malondialdehyde level also increased, which might be due to the increased glucose level and activated pathway related to free radical production. These results suggest that aerobic exercise decrease stimulate antioxidant activities and as a result can prevent atherosclerosis.
